LCD vs Plasma

There will be many people in the Market for the latest High Definition TV this summer. There still remains a big decision to be made on what technology is the best. LCDs and Plasmas have been the most popular televisions out on the market. LCD has shot ahead of its competition with many manufactures like Sony and Mitsubishi no longer supporting Plasma. Sony decided to leave plasma and fully focus on the LCD market. Sony and Samsung have become the top players in the LCD market. Plasma is down however is still strongly supported by Panasonic which is the most popular plasma on the market.

LCD was the first to adopt the 1080p resolution which is available on most of the sets sold in stores. It got a head start which brought many of the LCD sets to the forefront while Plasma dragged behind. Plasma had an overall great picture quality in the beginning did not seem that important to change the sets to the higher resolution. When Plasma moved into the 1080p market LCD domination was growing by very high percentages.

Which one should you buy this Summer really comes down to picture quality. LCD offers very sharp images with bright and vivid colors. Plasma offers a more accurate color scheme and smoother picture transition. This season there is a TV out there to fit into your budget and give you the best picture quality for the overall value.
